It all starts with cleansing. You only need to wash your face once a day, unless you have an oily skin, then you must wash your face at least twice a day. Choose a creamy cleanser and use a lukewarm water when washing your face. Allow the cleanser time to work. Instead of scrubbing vigorously on your face. Allow your cleanser to sit on your skin for a few seconds. This will give the cleanser enough time to break down the dirt, oil and grime that has accumulated on your skin during the day.

Second, after cleansing you must now protect your skin from the sun. At one point or the other we will be exposed to the sun a number of times in one day. Protect your skin by using a moisturizer with a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30. It will also help if you will reapply your sunscreen every two hours or whenever you will venture outside.

Third, another secret to having a beautiful skin is using retinoid cream. Retinoids are vitamin a derivatives that are proven to boost collagen, which in turn reduces fine lines and speed up cell turnover, that will even out skin discoloration.

Fourth, eat a lot of food with antioxidants. Food with antioxidant such as blueberries, dark green, green tea and coffee help fight free radicals that can damage the cellular structure of skin which in turn can accelerate signs of aging.

Fifth, exercise. If you think that breaking up a sweat is only good for your mental and physical health, think again. Exercise is also a wonderful gift to your skin. Raising your heart rate at least once a day will give your skin a natural glow that can never be achieved by make up alone. Exercise improves your blood circulation and oxygen capacity and in turn improves your skin’s condition.

Lastly, sleep at least seven hours each night. The stress hormone, cortisol, ages the skin and causes acne. Good news though, getting a proper seven hours sleep will reduce the cortisol produce in your body significantly.
